NEWS Happy New Year to all of you from Bay K9


The team responded for a Search in the Waldorf area on Jan 3.  Both dogs ran a trail and indicated the subject was not in the area.  Subsequently, the subject has been seen in the Washington DC area.  Subject was located in the Waldorf area on Jan 10.

Did over 40 different events for the citizens of Southern Maryland (Over 200 Hours)
Made presentations to over 3000 people
Made presentations to over 20 different organizations

Call Outs

Called out 17 times (80 Hours). This includes 60 hours on the Robert Woods Jr search in Doswell, Virginia. This was the largest search in recent times as noted by the Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Seminar

Presented a free Seminar, “Missing at Risk: Understanding and Managing the Search for the Missing at Risk Alzheimer’s and Dementia Subject”, for all local Search and
Rescue teams, Law Enforcement agencies and Fire and Rescue companies.

Mission:

Bay K9 is an all-volunteer, 501 c 3 search and rescue unit utilizing bloodhounds. Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to law enforcement, fire/rescue units, or any official agency. Bay K9 provides its services at no cost to the requesting agency. Our mission is to provide professional trailing dog teams and search management support to the citizens of Charles County and Southern Maryland.  We provide community education programs such as Lost!...But Found, Safe and Sound.

In support of our mission, Bay Search and Recovery:
- Trains year round and in all weather
- Provides safety education to the local community
- Will respond to complement other county and state rescue services

Bay K9 responds only to official agencies. Private citizens wanting Bay K9's help to find missing persons are asked to call their local police or emergency services (fire and rescue) agency.
